"Thus says Adonai, Yet again it will be heard in this place, of which you say, it is a waste, without man and without beast, that in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast, the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, and the voice of those who say, Give thanks to Adonai Tzeva'ot, for Adonai is good, and His Loving kindness is everlasting!"

Here again is a reference to the day of gladness, the day of a wedding feast. The wedding feast is one of the most revered in Judaism. I think it is most revered also in the heart of G-d. I think it is also on top priority of what to war against in the mind of the enemy! He has been against G-d's plan for harmonious family life, which begins in harmonious marriage, since day one!

But I believe that G-d is bringing His people back to a sense of wholeness; back to a sense of well-being in family life! We, as modern philosophers, have sought to institutionalize practically everything! We want to delegate all family responsibility to a "professional"! We have come to expect them to have it laid out for us, or to have done all the thinking and the work for us altogether! We do not want the job! Whether it be the messiness of birthing our children or the work of burying our parents! We do not want the job of caring for them either! Not really! We have been trained to let the daycare and the nursing home do it for us! In fact, the way we have constructed our entire society, it is almost impossible for us to do it at home anymore anyway! We don't have the support structure required, that we used to have, to do that sort of thing! Not without extravagant amounts of money!

We do not want the burden of educating our children academically, or discipling them spiritually! We leave that to the school system, or to the "Church" or "Synagogue"! We have become crippled and overly dependent on institutions to tell us how to live! We watch life, vicariously, through movies, or televised productions, on electronic devices, but few of us really live anymore. We have become a nation of mere spectators! We want as little "hands-on" interaction as possible! And then we wonder that relationships are not what they used to be!

But there is a movement of the Spirit back toward real living at home, drawing us back toward serving G-d at home, drawing us toward the motivation, the desire of living in such a way that it would necessitate taking dominion of our lives! There is a movement toward taking back the responsibilities of Family Life, including the Academic and Spiritual parts! A move toward regaining the Authority that we were meant to have, that G-d intended we walk in! The Authority that has been usurped by the self-proclaimed "experts". Be they academic or religious! There is a movement toward the sanctity of Marriage that goes way further than just denying "Homosexual Unions"! There is a movement back to real living as G-d meant it to be. Back to the embracing of His boundaries, His way of doing and being right!

But, It will mean going against the steady and powerful flow of modern thought and practice. It will mean being politically incorrect and religiously out of line! It will mean having the patience and discernment and chutzpah to be satisfied with who we are, and to seek out those who are being led in the same way. It will mean that our relationship with G-d, and with our spouses, and those in our immediate realm of influence will have to become more real, and less dictated by "the powers that be" in our social spheres. It will mean that we must take responsibility for our own decisions and actions! And what they produce! It will mean stepping up, and taking back the Authority that has been stolen from us, or that we willing forfeit for the sake of ease!

But it will reward us with a life of real adventure, a life that is not possible by the virtual means of institutionalized methods - be it Worship or birth! It is time for us to embrace the hard realities of living, be it "Home Birth", "Home School" or "Home Discipleship". It is time for Life to come back to the people of G-d! No more "Big Brother" style, organizational, virtual falsehood! No more cattle mentality! Cattle cars are not for His people! Never again! We shout it, but are we willing to put our money, or effort or responsibility where our mouth is? It is high time we used the brains He gave us and learned to think for ourselves! And then, time that we, as His people, chose to come together in His Word without losing that sense of well-being! We are a sheep-like people, but we are also created in His image for something higher! It is time that we step up to that! After all, perhaps we were born, for such a time as this.....?

Soon we will be called to the great wedding feast! This feast will be the culmination of all that we have waited for and believed in! Will we be ready? Will our wicks be trimmed and our lamps brimming with oil? Or will the institutions - to which we have sold our souls, our lives and our future generations, for the sake of ease - have provided us with pictures or virtual images of fire, that may satisfy us, but that will leave us outside in the cold as the bridegroom shuts the door on us! Are we going to live this thing or just be content to watch it pass us by? The time to decide that is now! The one to decide it is us! Are we awake in the darkness, or just asleep in the light?
