Heroism or Hypocrisy?

Thoughts on the Current Behavior of the “Black Lives Matter” Movement

Okay. Hold up. I know that I am an old....white.... woman, all of which, as far as those in the BLM movement is concerned disqualifies me from having an opinion on this issue! But before you get your black hoodies and come snuff me out, you might want to really consider my thoughts on this subject. Since, as I said, I am OLD. And therefore may have gained some wisdom along the way which you guys could find useful!

First of all, please allow me to express my deepest heartfelt belief on the whole issue, which is -

OF COURSE YOUR LIVES MATTER!!!

Duh!!!! Our good and loving Creator made us ALL in HIS image!!! And then, when we stupid humans sold ourselves into the worst kind of slavery – to SIN and our own evil inclinations – He sent HIS own SON to redeem us from our bad selves, and return us to that image! That was Jesus Christ's whole gig on this planet! So yes. We DO matter!!! We ALL matter – and we need to live like humans that matter – not just get MADDER! There is no “you” and “us”! We are ALL God's treasured children, and it is time we learned to act like it!

And, by the way, for the spiritually challenged, “Jesus, The Christ” is His name and title, not just a swear word! (It is Yeshua, The Messiah which means “Salvation, The Anointed One” in Hebrew, the original language!) He came, lived a sinless life, THEN paid the last full measure by giving up that life, went to hell on our behalf, whipped the devil, came out of hell and the grave, ascended to the right hand of the Father to make intercession for us, and left behind His Spirit and Anointing so we can find true liberty in His Truth! So oh yes. Our lives, YOUR lives do matter!!! But if we want the Freedom which HE bought for us we must play by HIS rules! Which are based on LOVE not revenge or discrimination!

So I get it. You guys justly feel that you have been dealt a false hand by most of white society, for far too long! I get it that you are pissed and want to right the wrongs! But please hear me on this - this rampant, senseless anger, this hypocrisy in the name of justice and right, has got to stop! Unfortunately I do not think that any of us are equipped to accomplish this kind of real justice. We may have to be willing to wait on God to do that for us!

But one thing is for sure, you guys are not making heroes of yourselves by acting like a lot of angry three-year-olds on crack, having a bitch of a temper-tantrum! You are not righting wrongs by looting, and killing, and wreaking havoc on anyone or anything which pisses you off! You are not gaining the respect you desire by acting like thugs and morally corrupt, criminally insane bullies!

And before I continue let me note – I am NOT talking to ALL “people of color” here! There are many, of course, who have learned to work the systems here, who have risen above all of the disdain, the disrespect, and the discrimination to make good, meaningful lives for themselves and their children! The opportunity is there for those who will work for it!

You guys however – meaning those people, like the ones in the “Black Lives Matter” group, who are still pulling the “race card” at every turn, still stirring the strife and hatred up in people, still hating and killing and looting and acting a fool – you do NOT want justice - you just want revenge. You want it bad enough to lie, cheat, steal and kill for it! You want everything handed to you on a silver spoon, while you sit on your sorry asses, smoking weed, and fucking your brains out! You really believe, deep down, that “WE” owe you that! But we don't. All humans DO deserve respect. But then, all humans need to act in ways that are respectable!

And this crap that you are doing, promoting, and striving after is not healthy. It is not reasonable. And it will never produce peace or anything good. It won't. It can't. You need to give that mess up. You need to accept some responsibility for your sorry ass, and grow a brain and a spine and get to work making a life for yourselves! What you don't see, because your hatred blinds you to reason, is that your need for revenge is selling your right to freedom! You are making yourselves slaves again! By refusing to work for everyone else has you put yourselves on a lower plain! You are your own worst enemy, so stop being pissed at me for existing, and for not having your wonderful sun-tolerant pigmentation! I got the “Native American” Schnoz from my Cherokee Granny Poston, but the tan did not get passed down to me! Excuse the hell out of me! Sheesh!

I get it that you are pissed! I get it that you – or at least your forerunners and ancestors - have been unmercifully abused! I do get it! But I have to be honest and tell you that you are demonstrating both ignorance and hypocrisy to assume that all white people have just had it so much better than you have! That is utter foolishness. In some ways, yes, of course they have. My people were dirt poor, and got looked down on when they went to town, and even spit on - but at least they could shop and use the freaking rest room! So again, yes! I get it! But now, many of those wrongs have been righted! And many of “your people” (and allow me to point out that it is you guys who are the ones now who are making that separation NOT the majority of “whites”) - have risen in the ranks and made good lives for themselves as a result!

And stop assuming white people have had no pain, that somehow we all had this magical life with no bumps in our roads! As a child I had unspeakable things done to me by those who should have loved me! I was mocked and taunted at school, as “po-white-trash”, by blacks and whites alike, because that is how my parents chose to live. They were alcoholic “red-necks” of the lowest social caliber! Even our relatives didn't associate with us! But my parents were poor in every sense of the word, they didn't realize that they had choices, so they acted as fools. As a result I was born at the bottom of the “white privilege” ladder to success! In fact, I think my family may have been born in that sewage ditch to the left of it! My grand-parents were “share-croppers”, who picked cotton for their “employer” from sun-up to sun-down. They lived in a disgraceful hovel in extreme poverty, and never had a decent house or anything to their name. My parents were mill workers whose situation was only a little improved. But they had little decency, little self-esteem, and they allowed the poverty to break them, to steal their hope, so they drank away what living they did make, leaving us kids to make do on whatever they didn't drink up, which wasn't much.

And still for all of that hardship, we actually still didn't have it as bad as some of “your people”. I get that. I do. And I have great compassion for the suffering which has been inflicted upon the ethnic groups and cultures within this otherwise great nation by self-important sons-of-bitches who got the strange notion that they were somehow better than everyone else including their wives! I apologize! But listen, some of my ancestors on one side of my father's family walked the trail of tears, and the ones on the other side are the ones who sent them! So I get it that it is a mixed up, unfair, hateful world. But we have got to keep our heads to get through it! We do.

All that this vitriolic hate and mischief is going to earn you guys, however, is more slavery, more disrespect and more hatred. Because Hatred begets hatred. Always has, always will. And besides that, while you may have a right to hang on to your hatred, it will never gain you the respect, the love and the freedom for which you yearn – for which you claim to be fighting!

It is utter foolishness and the height of hypocrisy to try to stand in judgment of others for “killing you off”, when you guys are killing yourselves off! The incidence of black on black murder, and black on white murder, far exceeds white on black murder - and – quite honestly - much of that is actually self defense - because you guys are on the offensive! Injustice will never produce justice!

Protest is definitely in order! But looting and thieving, and killing – and trying to justify all that blatant disregard for the law, with a bunch of irrational thumb sucking self-pity – is just not a reasonable or effective way to go about achieving a respected place in society! This is just sad.

Yes. As it has been noted..... Doing the right thing, for the right reason, the right way DID get Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. killed! Just as it has many other real men and women who gave their lives in the cause of freedom. He, and they, believed in his right to freedom enough to die for it. He didn't preach to others a standard which he himself refused to live – as you people are doing!

You are marching against discrimination while openly, obnoxiously, discriminating against others! You are demanding respect while respecting nothing and no one! You are demanding fairness while committing unfair atrocities on people who may or may not be guilty of what you judge them to be! That my friends is not justified protest. That is spoiled, entitled devilish revenge – and it will end in nothing good. You are calling disaster upon your own heads. There is a better way.

Jesus bought your freedom. It is there for you. No one is going to make it easy for any of us. That is just how it is. It is time we ALL grew up, found our big boy and big girl undies, pulled them up to our waste or hips where they go, and stop showing our big ass – individually and collectively. It is time we took responsibility for our own fate and stop the blame game.

YOUR LIFE MATTERS. But IF you really believe that, then it is high time you begin to act like it. Stop throwing it away on foolish tantrums. I care. And more importantly God cares. Give Him a chance to redeem this mess for you. I can personally testify to His ability to bring one out of the ditch. In the fleshly realm it's true, “Life is a bitch and then you die”. But in His Kingdom, “Life can be a bitch, but then you FLY!” I choose that kind of life. That's the Truth, for what it's worth. And I mean that in the very nicest way!
